Close To My Heart's December Stamp of the Month

 Valentine Card:

Are you ready for yet another card made with the December Stamp of the Month? I hope so because I have another one to share. This is a 5" x 7" card that my friend Karen Pedersen   w

hipped up in no time.  When you use your CTMH/Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge, do you keep the negative images? Well, why not? I'll bet you will from now on.  She used the negative image of the hearts to create this card.

CTMH products used:  December Stamp of the Month, Universal Backgrounds, Sonoma Level 2 Paper Pack, CTMH/Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge, Desert Sand Stamp Pad, Cocoa Stamp Pad, Dark Chocolate Striped Ribbon, 3D Foam Tape.

You can order this
Stamp of the Month (Mad About You) during the month of December only. You can get it for only $5 ($17.95 value) with a $50 order, or you can purchase it for it's full price of $17.95. If you are ordering on mywebsite (just click the shopping basket and it will take you there) you will be prompted to add the Stamp of the Month before you check out.  You will also be asked if you want the fabulous Rock The Block special (see previous post).

December Stamp of the Month

Valentine Card: Close To My Heart's December Stamp of the Month

Close To My Heart's December Stamp of the Month is beautiful and timely...Valentine's Day is just around the corner.  When you spend $50 in one order during December (before shipping and tax), this gorgeous stamp set ($17.95 value) is yours for only $5!   Of course, you can also purchase it at it's full retail value of $17.95, but why do that when you can purchase the fixin's you need to go with it for your Valentine cards and get it for only $5?

This card is a standard size card (5 1/2" x 4 1/4").  I love that Close To My Heart sells these cards in value packs of 50 cards and 50 envelopes (in either White Daisy or Colonial White) for only $14.95. That's an average of only .30 per card/envelope pair.

I also wanted to point out that this stamp set has any images that coordinate with the oh-so-wonderful CTMH/Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge. See the designs that are outlined (the 'ticket', the two hearts, the circular shape)? Well, that outline tells you that it is a shape that coordinates with the Art Philosophy Cartridge. On the carrier sheet of the set (actual size of the sheet is 6" x 6"), it tells you exactly what size to cut the shape on your Cricut so that it works perfectly to stamp on.  I don't know how I lived without my Art Philosophy Cartridge.  Hand in hand with our stamp sets it is a total winner.

I Am So Thankful

Sometimes I wonder why I am blessed with so much.  There are so many people who are much more deserving that I am and I just wanted to take a moment to share my gratitude today.
I have been bless with wonderful children who have become responsible adult citizens.  They are hard working and chose wonderful mates and have become wonderful parents to my 4 beautiful grandchildren.
I have been blessed with another wonderful husband who loves and cares for me.  He listens (even when I think he isn't) and is always doing kind and thoughtful things for me.  He never lets a day go by without showing his love for me.
I have been blessed with wonderful friends whom I love dearly and I have been blessed with having the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life, that reminds me daily of why I am here and what my purpose on this earth is.
For the last two Christmases I have been giving DeWayne a bad time about not having Christmas lights.  DeWayne is afraid of heights and doesn't like to get up on the roof.  Every time we would go past someones house that had lights on it I would remind him that I didn't have Christmas lights.
Last night when I drove into our subdivision I almost drove right past our house, because it had Christmas lights on it and I didn't even recognize it.
Without my knowing it he and our good friend Ron Koller went and purchased lights and Ron helped DeWayne hang them.  I know this isn't such a big deal but it made me cry.  Not because of the lights but of the fact that he would do something that meant so much to me.
I am so grateful for all that I have been blessed with.  I couldn't let another day go by without sharing my gratitude.

CTMH November Stamp of the Month

November Stamp of the Month:  As always, CTMH has created a wonderful stamp set for their Stamp of the Month program.  I love this one for so many reasons. It's great for birthday cards, anniversary cards, scrapbook layouts, and so much more.  I've included a little photo of the stamp set for you.  The actual size of the carrier sheet is 6" x 6".

I love that each of the months are represented and include a little bubble to stamp a date in!  Each month stamp coordinates beautifully with the ticket image on the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Collection too!

Crawl On Over........................

I was looking for something cute to make for my clients and came across this darling spider on Rachel Ventura's Blog.  I changed him a bit but thought that he turned out really cute.  He was cut with the Close To My Heart AP Cricut Cartridge.  Inside is a small York Peppermint Patty.  If I make any more of these I think I will buy the Pearsons Peppermint Patties as they are wrapped differently and are rounder so you wouldn't be able to see the wrapper.
Directions:
Cut 2 Black  2 1/2" Scallop Circles For Body
Cut 4 Creme Brulee 1 1/2" <tag 3> For Legs
Cut 2 White 1/2" circles for Eyes
Cut 1 Creme Brulee 1/2" circle for Nose
Sponge Creme Brulee pieces in honey or a color of your choice.
Either draw black circles, punch out black circles with a standard paper punch or use our largest Licorice Pearls in black for eyes.
Assemble with adhesive and enjoy!!!!!

Fun at the Pumpkin Patch

Friday evening DeWayne and I met Aimie and Kevin and took the kids to the Pumpkin Patch in Draper.  Jon and Misti were out of town and we were tending the kids while they were gone.  We thought it would be a fun time to do a grandkids activity.  The older kids had no problem picking out their pumpkins, Jack was more excited about pulling the wagon and filling it with pumpkins and Zoe wanted the perfect pumpkin so it took her the longest to find the one she wanted.  Afterwards they wanted to eat at Subway (go figure, not my choice of a Friday night dinner but oh well).  We had a good time being with them.  We love spending time with them.  They each hold a special place in our hearts.

Thursday Thought

I just came across this thought on facebook.  My niece had posted it and I though it was great.  I wish I would have had it when my girls were growing up and having boy problems.  I hope that it is something you might enjoy reading.
Have a "Treemendous" Thursday.

I Love Fall !!!!!!

Fall is my favorite time of the year.  I love the cool mornings and evenings and the warm days.  I love the smell in the air.  It reminds me of when I was a child.
This past weekend DeWayne and I took a ride up Ogden Canyon, over to Monte Cristo, through Hanksville, into Evanston and down through Parleys Canyon. The leaves were just beautiful. We stopped and had a delicious dinner at the Loco Lizard in Park City.    I thought I would share a few of the pictures that my talented husband shot that day.  I love his amazing work.

Try "Studio J"

Although I do not print many of my layouts in Studio J (I still like touching and smelling the papers, and creating with my hands), I do use it to set up my layouts.  I go in and play with the papers that I want and the layout that I desire.  I have found that by doing this I eliminate a lot of paper waste.  I no longer cut and place and then change my mind.  I have it all there in front of me the way I like it before I begin to cut and assemble.  However you choose to use Studio J, I know that this is a program that you will love!!!!!

Goblin Valley and Capitol Reef

Bob and Kelly Smith, RaNae and DeWayne Fennema

Capitol Reef

Goblin Valley

From September 15th -17th we sent time with our friends Bob and Kelly Smith, camping in Southern Utah.  We explored Goblin Valley and Capitol Reef.  We had a glorious time of good food, fun, laughter and friendship.
I can't wait to go camping again.  It is so nice to get away.

Great Times and a Good Lesson to Remember

RaNae and Diena at the Utah State Fair

Redd.  What an awesome young man.

Our Make and Take

On Sunday the 11th of September and Wednesday the 14th of September Diena Riddle and I handed out CTMH Catalogs and had a small make and take for the Utah State Fair patrons to make.  It was a great opportunity and experience and we enjoyed every minute of it.  On Wednesday night towards the end of our shift a young man with spiked hair came by our booth.  We asked questions about his hair and got talking with him and asked if we could take his picture.  He even sat down and made a card.  He was an awesome young man.  So many times we judge others because they look different than we do and maybe do things that we wouldn't do.  My visit with him reminded me that we shouldn't judge others by their outer apperance and we should look deeper inside and learn to love and be tolerant of others differences.

Judging Scrapbooks for the Utah State Fair

I was so lucky to be asked to judge the scrapbook entries for the Utah State Fair this year.  Diena Riddle was also asked.  It was so much fun.  We had wonder supervisors over us and we became instant friends. We laughed so much.  I hope that it is something that I will be asked to do again.

Camping in the High Uintas "Hike to Ruth's Lake"

We spent a wonderful relaxing weekend in the High Uintas.  The weather was beautiful and the hike to Ruth's Lake was amazing.  I have never seen so  many wild flowers in bloom.  I am so grateful for the beauty that has been created for our enjoyment.
